A bit of law of attraction, a bit of self sabotage 😂
If you know me well, you know I love all things law of attraction. Since discovering what this meant 3 years ago, I've never been happier.
So much has changed in my life and I feel like I'm a different person. I've done some deep dive work on myself, looked at why I think the way I do, what the reasons are for why I've said and done certain things, and done a lot of forgiveness work.
I love challenging myself and working on being a better human for myself, my children and family. It's not easy and sometimes I can be really hard on myself. But we humans make mistakes, such is life. How we grow, learn and act after those mistakes is what makes us better and who we really are. If we don't, the same scenarios keep showing up until we learn from it.
So what does this have to do with diet and exercise you may ask?! Well, a lot actually. I have a lot of people say they self sabotage when on a diet, and I've been known to do this too. One minute you're smashing all your goals and feeling good about it, next minute someone offers you some cake and you're ramming it in your mouth like you haven't eaten for days. Now you're racked with guilt, annoyed because it wasn't even that nice. Why do we do it? Some people say they feel bad saying no, especially when it's a relative. But, we need to be honest and clear about what we want, if you want to make a change to your life and body for good then you need to get better at saying no. Unfortunately, even the ones we love sometimes like to sabotage! But they can't force it down your neck so it's on you.
We can sabotage ourselves because deep down we don't believe that our lives, or in this case, bodies can be different and change for the better. You may look at a woman on Instagram who has a great body and think I'll never achieve that. But the truth is you can achieve whatever you want. Yes it might be a long road, but that doesn't mean you can't get there and the time will pass anyway.
Our routines, thoughts, emotions, beliefs all stem from a combination of our home life, the people we grew up around, school, work etc. As the saying goes "Show me your friends and I'll show you your future". We will have picked up good habits and some not so. If your parents never did any exercise, chances are you don't either. It's not to blame anyone, this is just life. I mean my youngest can fully blame me for her obsession with frankfurter sausages but I'll have to accept that!Â
What we need to do is challenge how we think and feel towards exercise and our diet, and change our habits for the better. The good news is, whatever our habits are, they can be changed.
Talking to your nearest and dearest about what you want and asking for their support is a great starting point. And your new healthier habits may well rub off on them in a positive way too.
Whatever your goal though, believe it to be possible with all your heart, put one foot in front of the other and the universe will move the pieces for you.
