Tips to get rid of belly fat
I just want to lose fat from my stomach!
The middle area is often the part women would like to change about themselves the most. Growing up looking at stick thin models and now abs on influencers all over social media, it's no wonder women find it difficult to accept their own body shape. Throw in pregnancy and it feels like an impossible task to drop body fat from our midriff. Those influencers have been training a long time and their body shape might well just be that they don't carry the fat in that area. It's important to be aware of this.
I feel like I say it too much but I have to; we can't pick and choose where we lose fat from. It just doesn't work like that unfortunately. And doing loads of ab exercises is pretty pointless too.
First of all I would like to say, to achieve a lean stomach, abs poppin' then most women have to go without a lot of the 'good' stuff. Because the 'abs are made in the kitchen' quote I support. It's difficult to maintain such little body fat. BUT we can still have a tummy to be proud of, we just need to know what will work and what is a waste of your time.
So this is my advice for dropping that belly fat...
⚡️Monitor your calories and maintain a calorie deficit to drop fat, again we can't pick where it comes off first but it will get to your stomach eventually. We all have places it comes off first, your stomach might just be your stubborn area and you have to stay consistent.
⚡️Maintain a high protein diet. Protein will keep you fuller for longer, stop you from snacking and help to drop body fat. Aim to consume one portion per meal. (Yes even breakfast: eggs or a shake).
⚡️An hour at the gym is brilliant but that doesn't mean you can sit on your arse for the other 23. Get those steps in 🚶🏻♀️
⚡️Drink 2.5-3 litres of water everyday. Staying hydrated keeps hunger at bay, keeps you regular and helps reduce inflammation.
⚡️Carry out a decent weights session 3-4 times per week. Compound lifts such as squats, deadlifts, overhead press, hip thrusts all help with building your abdominal muscles and dropping body fat. This will not only ensure you lose weight but will change your body shape like cardiovascular training doesn't.
⚡️Keep simple carbs and foods high in fat to a minimum.
I know you probably wanted a pill you can take but I'm sorry the long way is the best way! Follow these points consistently and you will get there.
